Officially from today you can write and I can hold your hand to help make you write. My dear daughter, today was your Hathe-Khodi, the day you grasp a Khodi (chalk) in your hath (hand), that’s why it is named hathe-khodi.

With this hathe-khodi, I welcome you to a new world: the world of education. This official ceremony will pave way for you to one day join the group of educated human beings. Education is a blessing for human kind, its a wonderful thing. See, even now you are so obedient that when i asked you for jai jai, you did it so beautifully-

A lifetime is not sufficient for experimenting with everything this world has to offer. Education make you learn things which are outcome of thousands of the year’s of experiments and hard work of crores of human beings. We are lucky enough to have access to this vast knowledge. When you assimilate this knowledge, you certainly need to give something in the return to it. Not everyone need to be a social worker or a soldiers, whoever is doing its duty honestly is giving the society, whoever is obeying the law is giving back to society, 

First thins first, when you have become part of this education race, I call it so because here nothing is absolute you will have to come first to prove your brilliance. Here one’s smartness is measured by the stupidity of rest.  how much you or can be capable of is hardly a matter of consideration and this is the phase where ranking matters, when you will grow you will know why I told so, but remember one thing that never get carried away by this “topper thing”. If you are a topper or you are not a topper it hardly matters in long run, what matters most is the clarity of the goal. When most of them may be busy in this topper game, you stay focused on what you want. This topper thing has hardly created a wonderful personality ever. Always it has been the clarity of the goals and paths. Always remember that your exams, your results all these are just part of a journey and the moment you get involved too much in the journey, you are sure to forget your goal. Those who know where they want to go, for them journey is temporary phase, they are focused on their goal. So the moment your care too much for all these marks, ranks and topper thing, take a break and ask yourself: are you getting too much involved in the journey and missing the destination, if answer is yes, then change the approach.
